Our Story

Founded in 2024 by interior designer Rauf Aliyev, AWAYFROMOBJECT creates sculptural lighting, furniture, and objects defined by material, proportion, and craft.

Material is at the heart of the practice. Alabaster, marble, brass, wood, and steel are shaped with intention, balancing natural character with the artistry of the hand. The result is lighting and objects with a quiet, sculptural presence.

Each work is handcrafted to order in our studio, produced slowly and in small numbers so no two pieces are ever entirely alike.

Rauf Aliyev is the founder and creative director of AWAYFROMOBJECT, a Phoenix, Arizona-based design studio working across furniture, lighting, objects, art, and interiors. The studio brings together original designs and collaborations with artists and makers from around the world, guided by material, craftsmanship, and a distinct point of view.
